# 22 - Jericho Swamp

This adventure packs a lot in its short
1.8 mile distance (one-way)! You'll visit
no less than 3 distinct swamps, pass
through lush valleys and other bottomlands,
and visit a long-leaf pine forest. The swamps
are otherworldly looking and encourage
exploration. Take your time, bring a camera
and look around. Strange and interesting
-sights are waiting to be discovered.
-This hike is part of the Francis Marion
-National Forest's Jericho Horse Trail.

Time: 1.5 - 2.5 hours.
Trail Surface: Dirt, natural surface, some wet/muddy areas.

Trail Marker: Blue blazes on trees, and good signage on the trail.

Precautions: Biting insects can be formidable in the warmer months. Bring insect repellent. This area is wet
nearly year-round. You might get your shoes wet/muddy. IMPORTANT: Hikers must yield to horseback
riders. Step off the trail and stop!
It's advised to wear "hunter's orange" or other bright colored clothing during hunting season.
